Special Educational Needs and Disability
At Holy Trinity we strive to meet the needs of all pupils within our school. We are proud of our ability to offer and successfully deliver a full and stimulating curriculum that is inclusive to all children.
All staff are knowledgeable of SEND within school and receive high quality information and training. We aim to quickly identify pupils, who are making limited progress and provide targeted interventions and support to meet their needs. We ensure that parents are fully aware of the SEND process and informed of their child’s learning at regular points throughout the year. We are a fully inclusive school and work alongside the Local Authority, Health Professionals and community organisations to find the most appropriate and effective support for pupils within our care. The governing body regularly review provision for children with special needs and maintains a strategic overview. Our policy and information on SEND can be accessed at Holy Trinity CE Primary Academy - SEND (holy-trinity.co.uk)
We recognise that many special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) may not be visible and many children live with mental health challenges. For children who need additional support with these additional needs, we have one trained ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) who works with children on a 1:1 and small group basis across the school. In addition we have a School Counsellor who works with children individually, and a strong pastoral support system for both parents and children across the school. If you would like to discuss any issue regarding your child or special educational needs, please speak to our SENCO Mrs Goddard who will be happy to provide both information and support.
Special Educational Needs and Disability Provision and the Local Offer
From September 2014 all schools and academies are required to publish information about their SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS and DISABILITY (SEND) provision. In Wiltshire, this will form part of a Local Offer and details about our SEND provision, and that of other schools’ and agencies’ provision, will be found under a dedicated Local Offer website found at:
