Wessex Archaeology

Holy Trinity had a visit from Wessex Archaeology this week to talk about the Digging for Erlestoke project which builds on the excavations originally carried out at the Manor House in 1963. We had a whole school assembly and then Sarum class were lucky enough to have a workshop handling artefacts found in the excavations from the Neolithic period. Wessex Archaeology have very generously gifted us an archaeologist's bag with tools and all the artefacts we studied to use in the future to inspire an understanding of how humans lived in the past. Sarum class enjoyed learning about what artefacts were made of, how they were used and what they can teach us about prehistoric life in this area.
