Sea City Museum Trip
Silbury Class visit to Sea City Museum in Southampton was a great success, perfectly bringing their Titanic learning to life.
Catriona shares her review: Our trip began with a tour around the museum where we discovered many interesting facts which built on, and expanded our knowledge on the Titanic. After this, we took part in a number of activities including deciphering morse code messages sent by the Titanic's Marconi operators. This was followed by a debate on which of five people were most responsible for the loss of life during Titanic's sinking. Decisions were split between: Bruce Ismay, Captain Smith and Reginald Lord. Having completed our time at the museum, we enjoyed a walking tour around Southampton to see buildings and monuments which related to Titanic including where the first and second class passengers stayed, where members of the crew lived and the pub where the Slade brothers spent time before missing the sailing of Titanic. A very enjoyable day!
Thank you to the Mr Amor for leading the trip with Miss Bourne, Mrs Andrew and Mrs Heath.
