School Travel Plan Update

We’re delighted that Wiltshire Council has confirmed the dates for road safety improvement works outside Holy Trinity school site. The works will take place from 30th March to 10th April 2026 (during the Easter school holidays), following our successful funding bid to the Department for Transport. Planned improvements include new safety signage with solar powered lights, a 25m footway for safer access, pavement upgrades, enhanced crossing surfacing and measures to protect the dropped kerbs near Winchcombe Close. These improvements mark a major step forward for the safety of our children, families and the wider community.

Our school’s Travel Plan continues to be an important and dynamic development project, and we’re delighted to share some significant updates. We are working closely with the Local Authority and Cheverell Magna Parish Council to promote safer, healthier and more sustainable travel for all our families. By encouraging more walking, cycling and scooting, we aim to reduce car traffic around school and create a safer, more pleasant environment for everyone.

Through the Travel Plan, we’ve been able to gather valuable feedback from families, understand travel patterns and develop effective actions. It has also enabled us to access funding for improvements such as bike and scooter storage and the ongoing discussions about local road upgrades. This work continues to support our commitment to wellbeing, healthier lifestyles and a strong, connected community.

Our HomeRun community is expanding—well done, parents! Over one‑third of our families are now signed up to the HomeRun App, representing 63 pupils. Nearly half (47%) are open to journey sharing, and 17% of car journeys are already shared. If you need help accessing or using the App, please let us know—we’re happy to support.

Our pupils continue to benefit from high‑quality personal development programmes, including Bikeability, Scootability, and Walk Safe, which help build confidence and essential travel skills.

We are excited to see these improvements taking shape and are grateful to our families and community partners for their ongoing support.

Together, we are helping make school journeys healthier, safer and more sustainable for everyone.
