Interfaith Day

Our Culture and Diversity Project expanded this week as we explored the faith and traditions of Islam. As part of our learning about world religions and world views, pupils in KS1 have been developing an understanding of special times and celebrations, while KS2 pupils have been exploring how beliefs influence daily life and community practices. To deepen this learning, Sabiha and Maliha led an inspiring ‘World View’ workshop for every class. Children discovered the significance of the festival of Eid, examined artefacts, learned some Arabic words, and discussed how faith shapes values and traditions.

It was wonderful to see pupils immerse themselves, asking thoughtful questions, with respect and curiosity about different beliefs. This experience supports our vision for inclusive RE, helping children appreciate diversity and develop empathy as part of their spiritual, moral, social and cultural growth.
