Africa Diversity Project
Our school recently came alive with colour, rhythm and creativity as we celebrated and explored Africa through our Diversity Project. It was a wonderful opportunity for children to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the rich cultures, traditions and heritage from across the African continent. Throughout the day, pupils engaged in a wide range of enriching activities across the curriculum. A lively drumming workshop was a particular highlight, with children experiencing the energy and joy of traditional rhythms. In art, they explored African-inspired designs, while history and geography lessons provided valuable insights into the continent’s past and its diverse cultures. In food technology, pupils had the chance to discover and sample a variety of authentic flavours.
The celebrations culminated in a special performance, proudly showcasing the children’s learning and enthusiasm. It was a memorable day that celebrated diversity, sparked curiosity and brought our school community together. We are also grateful to the PFA, whose fundraising efforts support valuable enrichment opportunities for every child. This strong partnership enables ambitious ‘World View’ projects like this to be brought into the classroom, enhancing and extending learning experiences for all.
