A Memorable Week!

It has been a memorable and busy week for our Year 6 pupils. They attended a special Leavers’ Service at Salisbury Cathedral, where they had the opportunity to reflect on their primary school journey and look ahead to the exciting next stage as they prepare for secondary school. Following the service, the children explored the Cathedral and enjoyed a picnic in the sunshine alongside pupils from across Dorset and Wiltshire, marking a day filled with inspiration and hope. Three Year 6 teams represented the school at the Dauntsey’s Dodecahedron Mathematical Competition, tackling a range of challenging problems with enthusiasm, teamwork and determination.

In addition, they took part in the Junior Good Citizen event led by Wiltshire Police, where they demonstrated maturity, kindness and excellent teamwork. Our upper KS2 pupils enjoyed an exciting afternoon of Challenge Maths activities with Dauntsey’s School. Working in teams, they tackled a variety of problem-solving tasks designed to push their thinking and encourage collaboration. It was a great opportunity to apply their mathematical skills in new ways and build confidence through challenge. Well done to all who took part.

Back in school, the children have continued to show real responsibility by helping around the site, supporting staff and taking pride in caring for their school environment. They have been fantastic role models for younger pupils, and organisers from this week’s events praised their exemplary attitude, behaviour and presentation.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 pupils, they have represented the school beautifully and are a wonderful group of young citizens. Well done, Year 6!
